4th of July Celebration on Lake Murray, what a show

4th of July Celebration on Lake Murray is a must do. If you have a boat this is the best way to view the dazzling fireworks display amoungst the 1000's of boats scattered all over the lake.

2009 Event Schedule:

Approximately 12:30 p.m.- the Annual Boat Parade will leave Bomb Island as it parades towards the Lake Murray Dam in Lexington SC and passes each park site for public views. Entry Judging will take place just past the Irmo Park Site at the Dam, parade judges will be on board the Southern Patriot (the lead boat). Winners will be announced via a live call-in on 98.5 FM.

The Parks will open at 10:00 AM and you can stay all day for the best seating and enjoy a day on the shores of Lake Murray Lexington SC. Bring the charcoal and the towels. Also enjoy some fishing!

Facilities: 
Picnic tables, shelters, swimming (no lifeguard), public restrooms, boat ramp.  Pets not allowed.

Monday - Friday: 11:00a-8:00p, 
Saturday - Sunday: 10:00a-8:00p
Parking Fees
$3.00 for cars, $45 Season Pass
Directions From Lexington: 
Take South Lake Drive (Hwy 6) north out of Lexington. The park entrance is on the left just before the dam.
Directions from Irmo: 
Take either Lake Murray Blvd or Bush River Road west from of Irmo.  The park entrance is on the right just after the dam.

8:00 p.m. - at Dreher Island State Park, a concert by the Lake Murray Symphony Orchestra at Shelter 14

The gates to Dreher Island will close at 8pm, please arrive early to ensure your entry to this event!

(Picnics are welcome, however, NO ALCOHOL is allowed!)

Launching will be from Spence and Dreher Islands on Lake Murray SC. Tune into B106.7 FM, 98.5 FM to listen to the patriotic music show that choreographed to the fireworks!
