our Husbands told us so

Chip (My Husband) was quick to email me this breaking news. His subject line was he told me so. Great! Another excuse to drink more beer is what I needed from the media to aid him in his occasional indulgence. LOL

The University of Wisconsin told doctors at the American Medical Association confrence in Orlando, Florida that A pint of Guinness stout may have the same impact in improving blood circulation as a low dose of aspirin. The experts believe that in addition to the anti-clogging qualities of alcohol, some ingredients in Guinness can actually slow deposits of cholesterol in the blood. You can read the full story here.

Chip now has a 12 pack of Guinness stout on the grocery list and he threw the aspirins away. By my calculations that 12 pack should last 12 days. I reality I don't give it a week.

Our Husbands told us so!

This is like trying to put out a fire with a gallon of gas. Love the post. Love Guiness. Thanks now if it was calorie free we would all be drinking it

Sounds like a conspiracy by the beer companies to me.....but then again.....there is only one way to prove the threory right or wrong!!!

Great post!!! Now if I only liked Guiness....oh well I guess I will stick to the low dose aspirins....probably cheaper that way.

Laura, Chip is a wise man to be reading medical journals in his spare time. I can find at least one doctor who will agree with my life style, I hope!

I have read many stories about the anti clogging properties of wine and beer for high cholesterol. My dad had a glass of wine every day for 60 years and he is really a lot healthier than most men at 85.

Laura, I'm laughing here big time.  Milwaukee is such a beer town and leave it to someone in Wisconsin to do a study on beer and how it's good for you!

Laura, good for him.  Find me an indulgence, and I'll find a study to support it's use.

If I were you I would have tried to find a study going the other way, I think you maybe the first woman in history to admit their husband was right. (CONGRATS)
