LAURA- Great Title- basments are not an issue in Florida however in the northeast and mid west regions they can be very problematic- if these products really work they can save the homeowner thousands in damages as well as preserve the value of homes with wet basments. Thanks for sharing this information.
Just today I was in a crawl space basement with my buyer and we were trying to figure out how to get rid of the musty smell. I suggested vents, a vapor barrier and a de-humidifier. I'm glad all of those things were on your list. :)
No vents is the correct approach. And if there is a smell there's unhealthy living. Clean Space Crawl Space Encapsulation System is roughly 2.50 per square foot to do but well worth the money.
